The Chattanooga Triathlon Club is so excited to host you for our biannual TriNooga event. (If you are doing the Lookout Challenge and completing the Full Ironman in September, our TriNooga 2 will be August 26-28th.)
Below is the agenda for the weekend:
Friday, April 22nd
5:00 p.m. to 7p.m. - Packet Pick-up will be at Naked River Brewing Company (1791 Reggie White Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37408). You're going to want to make a point to come to packet pick up even if it's just for the swag, brisket, or a beer.
Saturday, April 23rd
6:30 a.m. - Meet at Erwin Marina (201 Riverfront Pkwy, Chattanooga TN 37402) Parking will be across the street. You will need to pay for parking. Water support will take position at this time. We will then walk to swim start. (Swim start location is the Rowing Center, 1001 Riverside Dr, Chattanooga, TN 37406. NO PARKING is allowed at this location). There will be people at the ramp to waive you in and help you out of the water at the Duck Boat Ramp. Which will make the swim longer than the 1.4 mile swim in the Half. You will exit after the covered boat dock just slightly past the Erwin Marina. We will have balloons and people marking the ramp but keep an eye out when you get to the marina. Wetsuits are allowed and encouraged as the water currently is low 60s.
**Note: We will have a shoe drop off and they will be waiting at the swim exit however, it is your responsibility to pick up afterwards or they will be disposed of at the end of the camp.
7:30 a.m. - We will promptly start the swim. All swimmers must have a swim buoy and swim caps on for visibility on the river. Last swimmer must be out of the water by 9:30 a.m.
8:30 a.m. - As soon as you complete the swim you will need to start your self-paced 7 mile run (or 13.1 if you want). The run course will slightly modified due to traffic and safety. There will have 1 aid station on the river walk near the rowing center where the swim start will be held on a picnic table that you will bass multiple times. The course will be marked appropriately and will have blue markers.
12:00 p.m. - Lunch time! Be sure to bring a chair and kick back with us after that long run! We will have food catered for you from Mindi B's Deli.We will have a variety of healthy options to choose from such as: House Specialties Wraps, Deli Classic Wraps, Fresh Fruit Salad, and Green Salad.
Our sponsor, Owen Cyclery will be holding a tire changing and roadside assistance clinic with us. You want to be prepared just in case you get into a situation on the course.
Lastly, you’re going to want to hang out because we will be raffling off two stoves from our newest sponsor, US STOVE COMPANY. You will get a raffle ticket with your registration. We will be selling additional raffle tickets on site; $5 each cash only. We will also have giveaways as well that you'll want to stick around for. It is sure to be a great time!
Sunday, April 24th
6:30 a.m. – Arrive at Republic Parking Riverfront Parking Lot (160 Riverfront Pkwy, Chattanooga, TN 3740). Must pay for parking however, on Sundays if you park on the side street it will be free.
7:30 a.m. – The ride will start promptly at this time. We will have groups start based on paces. The route will be 1 loop of the Chattanooga 70.3 Bike Course. American Bicycle Group will be providing SAG throughout the course, and phone numbers are listed below. Please be aware of your surroundings and exercise good bike etiquette as the course will be open to traffic. We will have 1 aid station at mile 34 at Pigeon Mountain Grill Pavilion.
We intend to have some nutrition available throughout the weekend, but please be prepared with your own as well.
12:00 p.m. - Bike cut off. We will have SAG vehicles on the course sweeping and providing assistance.
